Mutant #9601 Teaser

Marvel/Disney Studios announced a remake of Wolverine (Not A Prequel) a couple of weeks ago. They released this poster yesterday and it looks awesome. Ever since then I was thinking of making a film of my own, so I decided to make one…well some what.

We did a parody teaser of Mutant #9601 also known as Wolverine, which also includes myself. My Halloween costume took 4 months to grow. I will post a video on how we went about this and how color grading is important.

On Set Capture!

Photos I took this past weekend while filming my short film, The Man on the Highway. The weather was perfect and even the birds felt a little camera happy.

ARGO Review

So Mr. Affleck has come up to the plate three times, and has delivered big each of those times. Too bad he can’t play for his hometown team. ARGO was clever and had me hooked throughout, and kudos to Ben for selecting such a good cast. Bryan Cranston was amazing as always, of course Ben who I’ll get to later, but John Goodman brought a funny vibe to the film, along with Alan Arkin. Both of which had such good chemistry that without them, it wouldn’t have been as entertaining as it was. Those two were hilarious together-ARGO fuck yourself. The six who played the crew who escaped the embassy were also very good, and personally each one looked like they actually teleported from the 70’s, that design/costume/wardrobe was top notch. Finally, the director, and although he wasn’t emotionally at his top level, Ben Affleck delivered another great performance. Caught between his personal life and his job, he constantly thinks about his family, mainly his son, which I believe is key in this whole cheesy sci-fi ordeal.

Affleck who plays Tony Mendez is about business and we see him struggling with his personal life.(He does make smoking and drinking look cool however) Throughout the film he doesn’t smile one bit, he keeps this straight face like there’s nothing to worry about. His delivery wasn’t the most overwhelming, but he didn’t have too. He didn’t play hero, like most films do. He just did his job, no questions. The acting was good, and I applaud Mr. Affleck for choosing the right cast.
What I liked about this film mostly was the overall look, just making it look like 1979 must have been difficult. Like I said earlier, the wardrobe and costume designers did a wonderful job in this film. Also having 1,000 plus extras for I believe two scenes must have been difficult as well.
ARGO is a must see, and although true based stories are overkill nowadays, this film really delivers from the get go. From beginning to end, Affleck takes you on a gritty, relentless ride that has you never wanting to have Tony Mendez’s day job. I believe there was only one bullet fired in the whole film, which brings up how effective this story was. How the actors made this story true as well, as their performance. Towards the end of the film, you finally get an idea of what the film’s message is about. The relationship between Tony Mendez and his son is very telling in this film. After the cheesy, and very corny attempt of making a Star Wars rip off sci-film it is evident that there is a side of Tony we didn’t know, and that he is trying to illustrate at the end. Overall great film, Top ten of the year for sure. Nothing really negative to say, but a few nitpicks here and there, but besides that 8/10. I recommend everyone to go watch this, you’ll enjoy it. So until next time you silly bloggers. ARGO-fuck yourself then…
